Niagara Falls man pleads guilty to Buffalo Airport hit-and-run
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Niagara Falls man pleaded guilty Monday to seriously injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run in February near the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Travis Rosario, 51, pleaded guilty to one count of leaving the scene of an incident resulting in serious injury. He faces a maximum of four years in prison.
Officials said at 4:56 a.m. on Feb. 27, Rosario was driving a vehicle on Luiz Kahl Way near the airport when he hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road near Genesee Street. He then drove away from the scene without reporting the incident to police.
The victim, a 44-year-old male from Williamsville, was taken by ambulance to ECMC with serious physical injuries, including a head injury and numerous fractured bones, according to the district attorney’s office.
Rosario is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 19. He remains released on his own recognizance.
