More than 30 dogs and puppies rescued from Hamburg residence
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — More than 30 dogs and puppies were rescued from deplorable conditions in a Hamburg residence Wednesday night, the SPCA Serving Erie County said in a social media post.
According to the SPCA, the home was littered with garbage and feces in “some of the harshest circumstances our team has ever encountered.” The rescue went long into the night, but 32 Newfoundland mixes in total were eventually saved.
The owner has been charged with animal cruelty and is scheduled to be arraigned in April.
Immediate needs of the dogs are being met. The SPCA is asking for donations to help with the ongoing care of the dogs. If interested, you can go to this link and type “32dogs” in the comment section.
The SPCA’s veterinary team has given the puppies a “clean bill of health” and announced Saturday that they’re ready for adoption. The puppies can be visited at the SPCA’s shelter located at 300 Harlem Road in West Seneca.
