Mister Sizzle’s announces plans for southtowns location
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Hamburg is about to get a new burger spot — with a familiar name.
Mister Sizzle’s, which has a popular restaurant on Connecticut Street in Buffalo and already has an outpost in the works in Clarence, will open up shop in the southtowns at 1 Buffalo Street in Hamburg.
Until last December, that address was home to another popular burger shop, JuiCy Burger Bar, which closed after the building was sold and the restaurant’s lease was terminated.

“Now let’s see which location will open first!” Mister Sizzle’s said on social media, jokingly referring to the race between the Clarence and Hamburg locations as a “battle of the buildouts.” According to its website, the Clarence location is advertised to be opening this spring.
After opening in 2021, Mister Sizzle’s and its daring menu of burgers, fried chicken sandwiches as well as signature milkshakes and cocktails have developed a considerable reputation — both locally and nationally.
The Connecticut Street location was named Buffalo Spree’s best new restaurant in 2022, and won an episode of cable channel A&E’s “Best in Chow” in September 2023.
