A Million Dreamz closer to offering 24/7 child care in Sheboygan as facility upgrades near completion
SHEBOYGAN — Progress on facility changes at A Million Dreamz, 415 Euclid Ave., continue.
The child care center finished construction on three classrooms, offices, a gross motor room and kitchen space from the summer, totaling eight classrooms. Now, the rooms will be painted and set up.
“I am so proud of all that we have accomplished, and I can't wait to keep moving forward!” said Angel Berry, A Million Dreamz executive director.
A Million Dreamz needs volunteer painters, plus funds to cover the remaining capital campaign costs, which are roughly $600,000. Rooms are still available for naming sponsorship.
The organization is moving toward the end goal of 24/7 service, now open from 5 a.m. to midnight seven days a week. About 50 people are employed, too.
Berry said A Million Dreamz can serve 140 children a month and is working through its waitlist of more than 300 kids.

“We enroll new families and more call in,” she said. “It will be a time before the industry is able to meet the needs of all the families in the area, but I know there are good plans in action throughout the county.”
United Way of Sheboygan County received a $75,000 grant to address child care needs in the area, like helping in-home providers get certified and conducting a child care impact survey.
