BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Niagara Falls man was sentenced to a split sentence of 90 days in jail for injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run near the Buffalo Niagara International Airport in February, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said.
Travis Rosario, 51, hit the victim on Luiz Kahl Way near the airport just before 5 a.m. on Feb. 27, as the pedestrian was crossing the road near Genesee Street. Rosario left the scene without reporting it to police.
The pedestrian, a 44-year-old Williamsville man, was taken to ECMC to be treated for serious injuries, including multiple fractures and a head injury.
Rosario pleaded guilty in September to leaving the scene of incident resulting in serious injury. He was facing up to four years in prison. As part of his split sentence, he will be subject to five years of probation.
