Updated: Man found shot to death June 16 on Long Shoals Road ID'd by Asheville police

ASHEVILLE - A man was killed in the early morning of June 16 in South Asheville, according to an Asheville Police Department news release.

Patrol officers responded to an apartment at the Artisan at Biltmore Park Apartments on Long Shoals Road around 6 a.m., where they found a man deceased from an apparent gunshot wound, according to APD spokesperson Rick Rice.

Police identified the victim as Terry Lee Landrum Sr., 49, of Hendersonville.

Criminal Investigations Division detectives and forensic technicians are investigating the shooting with the assistance of the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

"The investigation is currently being conducted and there's no immediate threats to the public at this time," Rice told the Citizen Times.

This is the fourth homicide this year in the City of Asheville.
