Man admits to fatally stabbing girlfriend in 2022
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has admitted to fatally stabbing his girlfriend at her home in 2022, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Friday.
James Allen, 69, pleaded guilty to a first-degree manslaughter charge in connection to stabbing his girlfriend, 44-year-old Yashika Page, at her home on Cambridge Avenue on Nov. 4, 2022. She died a week later on Nov. 11.
Prosecutors said the stabbing took place during an argument at the home. After stabbing Page, Allen engaged in a physical altercation with an adolescent male, who suffered a cut to his hand during the fight.
Allen was originally charged with second-degree assault, third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment, but that was upped to a second-degree murder charge following Page’s death.
After pleading guilty to the manslaughter charge, Allen faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on June 16. He remains held without bail.
