MacGyver, Hawaii Five-0 and more CBS dramas to return next season
CBS has confirmed that MacGyver, Hawaii Five-0, S.W.A.T., SEAL Team, Madam Secretary and Bull will all be returning for new seasons.
MacGyver is currently one episode away from finishing its third season, which saw George Eads leave his role as Jack Dalton halfway through.
The series previously had a crossover episode with Hawaii Five-0, which has now been renewed for its tenth season. Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan are expected to return as Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams, respectively – but viewers will be left guessing by the season nine finale, which will tease the death of a major character.
Meanwhile, S.W.A.T. is gearing up for its third season, with its sophomore finale just around the corner.
SEAL Team will also be getting a third season. The series stars Bones' David Boreanaz in a high-octane action-adventure from Benjamin Cavell, fictionalising the dangerous international missions that become routine for the US Navy's elite ground force.
And political drama Madam Secretary will be back for its sixth season, with co-creators Barbara Hall and Lori McCreary telling TV Line after the season five finale that upcoming episodes will follow Elizabeth McCord's (Téa Leoni) journey as she runs as a candidate in a presidential election.
Another series renewed by CBS is Bull, although Steven Spielberg won't be returning as executive producer following sexual harassment allegations being made against the show's lead Michael Weatherly by co-star Eliza Dushku.
