Local retailers feel the impact of Bills in the playoffs
AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — As the excitement of the Buffalo Bills being in the playoffs for another year continues to build, local retailers are seeing first-hand that fans are ready to shop.
“The Bills are truly the heart of this community,” said Mary Friona-Celani, owner of the Totally Buffalo stores. “Myself as a small business owner, it means the world to us, I mean this team is so special we’ve been hearing that for awhile now, but we can see it now, and we can feel it now so it’s really exciting.”
Totally Buffalo works with more than 100 local artisans, promoting products that are made by neighbors here in Buffalo.
“This is a great opportunity for local retailers, we couldn’t be more proud of our team and as a fan and a business person, it really is a great mix,” said Friona-Celani.
From accessories, to classic Zubaz, to warm gear the bundle up and wear to Highmark Stadium, local retailers are helping Bills fans get ready for playoffs.
“Our biggest time of year is playoff time,” said Nathan Mroz, the owner and founder of The BFLO Store, “When it comes to the springtime, usually right after the Bills lose in the playoffs, we see a big dip, however, this year being the Super Bowl year, which I’m calling it, I think we’re going to be busy all year round.”
Both stores are having deals and specials leading up to Sunday’s wild card playoff game.
For every home game, The BFLO Store has a free signing to the public and a “hype” party the day before. They plan to have this event this Saturday at 1 p.m. For more information on The BFLO Store visit their website here.
Totally Buffalo is helping fans get “Pumped Up for Playoffs” on Saturday, where they will have $10 tee shirts, giveaways, a basket raffle, and are giving away free earmuffs if you spend $100. For more information on Totally Buffalo Store, visit their website here.
