Live music and events in Rochester this week!
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — We have a huge chunk of events and live concerts happening in Rochester this week! Here’s what to look out for:
Throughout the Week
Sunflower Spectacular
The Sunflower Spectacular will continue from last week through the start of September! More information about this event can be found on Wickham Farms’ website.
Sweeney Todd at Theatre444
Theatre444 is kicking off its production of the Broadway musical “Sweeney Todd” from August 23 through September 1.
The show will be performed at the Black Box Theatre in Geneva at 7 p.m. for the August 23-24 and August 29-31 shows. The show will start early at 4 p.m. on August 25 and September 1.
Tuesday, August 20
Avril Lavigne at Darien Lake
Pop-punk singer Avril Lavigne will be coming to the Darien Lake Amphitheater as part of her “Greatest Hits” tour. The concert will be held rain or shine. The concert kicks off at 7 p.m.
Wednesday August 21
Midday Bash
After this week’s Midday Bash, we only have two more events out of this series! As always, live music, food trucks, and more activities will be held at Parcel 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Downtown Rochester Farmer’s Market
The Downtown Rochester Farmer’s Market opens up again this week from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Parcel 5.
Farmers. vendors, and food trucks will be at Parcel 5, along with games, live music performances, and more!
Allegro at Concerts by the Shore
Concerts by the Shore also has two weeks left after this show! Allegro, a premier party band, will perform at Ontario Beach Park. The show starts at 7 p.m.!
Dark Star Orchestra at Innovative Field
Dark Star Orchestra will be coming to Innovative Field this week. Tickets can be purchased through the band’s website.
Thursday, August 22
New Kids on the Block at Darien Lake
The New Kids on the Block is bringing its Magic Summer Tour to Darien Lake this week! Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff are also performing with the group!

Friday, August 23
Sarah Jarosz at Innovation Square
Grammy-winning singer Sarah Jarosz is bringing the Polaroid Lovers Tour to Rochester! The show kicks off at the Theater at Innovation Square at 7 p.m.
Bands on the Bricks
The final show for Bands on the Bricks is tonight at 5:30 p.m. — with Donna the Buffalo and Chris Beard as the final performers of the year. Attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs.
Fairport Music Festival
The Fairport Music Festival kicks off Friday and goes into the weekend! The event goes until Sunday, August 25!

Saturday, August 24
Rochester VegFest
Rochester’s all-vegan festival will be held at Parcel 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature multiple exhibitors, guest speakers, and cooking demonstrations happening throughout the day. Admission to the festival is free.
Rochester Summer Soul Music Festival
Happening at Innovative Field is the annual Rochester Summer Soul Music Festival — featuring performances from Jamall Youngblood, Regina Bell, LunaSolChild, and more!
Gates to the festival open at 2 p.m. and shows will start at 3 p.m. Tickets can be found on the event’s website.
