Second teen who escaped juvenile detention center apprehended in a stolen car
A 16-year-old Bristol Township teen who allegedly escaped from a Berks County juvenile detention facility is facing new charges after he was apprehended driving a stolen car Wednesday, police said.
He was taken into custody along with two other juveniles after he led Falls Township police on a short pursuit along North Oxford Valley Road before abandoning the stolen Kia in the shopping center near Jefferson-Bucks Hospital, Falls Lt. Christopher Clark said.
The Kia was reported stolen out of Falls Township on Tuesday night. The vehicle showed up in Bristol Township on Wednesday night, then again on Oxford Valley Road and Lincoln Highway, where a police officer on patrol spotted it and attempted to pull it over.
The teen , who was wearing a ski mask, was allegedly driving the Kia. He turned 17 on Thursday.

He and another juvenile ran into nearby woods, while a third juvenile, a girl, surrendered to police.
All three were taken to the Bucks County Youth Center in Doylestown. He will be charged as a juvenile with resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding law enforcement and receiving stolen property, Clark said.
The teen had been on the run since the escaped from the Abraxas Academy in Reading on July 6 when he and a Reading teen also housed at the center climbed a fence around the complex. The two were not confirmed missing until hours later, authorities said.
Tullytown Police apprehended 18-year-old Tyler Lutz around 8:30 p.m. on July 8 at the annual St. Mike's Carnival, which is held on the grounds of the St. Michael the Archangel Church off the Levittown Parkway.
Authorities said that Lutz was attempting to blend in with the carnival employees..
Lutz was taken into custody without incident and he is currently being detained on $1 million bail in Bucks County Correctional Center. He has been charged in Berks County as an adult with escape, a third-degree felony charge, according to the court docket.
