Aside from a passing flurry or snow shower off the upper lakes, we’ll see some partial sun around the Buffalo metro Friday. More impactful lake effect snow will start to redevelop across the Southern Tier and at times into the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania during the afternoon.

A brisk breeze will result in blowing/drifting snow especially in open rural areas and produce a noticeable wind chill. Localized lake effect snows persist Friday night-Saturday morning south and possibly well north of the Buffalo metro. The southern band will edge into the Buffalo metro midday-afternoon Saturday and eventually into Niagara County with a quick inch or two in spots. Some areas across the lake-effect warning area may pick up at least another foot of snow by the time the lake snow moves northward across the Niagara Frontier Saturday.
