Kern County firefighters contain 77-acre vegetation fire on Granite Road
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Kern County firefighters successfully contained a 77-acre vegetation fire on Granite Road, just north of Round Mountain Road, Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported at 2:18 p.m. and was approximately 5 acres in size when firefighters arrived.
Strong wind caused the fire to spread quickly, prompting firefighters to act swiftly to prevent it from crossing Granite Road. Ground crews, supported by aerial teams, managed to contain the fire using dirt roads and retardant lines to halt its forward progress.

The fire was fully contained, preventing any threat to nearby homes, ranch lands, and oilfields.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
