Keanu Reeves has dated Alexandra Grant for 'several years,' says her friend Jennifer Tilly

Turns out, Keanu Reeves has been coupled up for quite some time, despite everyone’s surprise to see him holding hands with artist Alexandra Grant on the red carpet back in November.

Grant was by the Matrix star’s side at the star-studded Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Art + Film Gala, leading to speculation about their relationship.

Her ties to Reeves include collaborating on two books written by him and illustrated by her and publishing others through their X Artists’ Books.

Now actress Jennifer Tilly, a friend of Grant’s, has revealed that their romance is not at all new.

“It’s really astonishing to me how in the last five months, all of a sudden, she goes to an event with him and everybody goes insane, like, ‘It’s his new girlfriend,’ because she had gone to a lot of events with him,” the Bride of Chucky star told Page Six. “It’s just suddenly surfaced that he’s been dating her for several years.”

Tilly, who met Grant at a dinner party, joked about when Grant told her about her dating status.

“I remember a couple years ago, about a year and a half ago, [Grant] said, ‘Keanu Reeves is my boyfriend’ and I’m like, ‘Wait. What? What? What?’ She was so cool I thought she was a lesbian.”

Tilly said Reeves truly is a “great guy” who’s “really lucky” to be with Grant. So, yeah, she approves of their relationship.

“I saw him at her last art opening, and he’s not, like, wanting the spotlight, because he’s a really low-key guy, too, and I think why everybody went crazy is that they’re sort of the perfect couple,” Tilly said.

“I think everybody wishes that they had something like that. It’s not a razzle dazzle Hollywood romance.”
