Jury finds Buffalo man guilty of murder in fatal 2023 stabbing
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was found guilty by a jury Thursday after he stabbed a man to death in the spring of 2023, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
Around 9:30 p.m. on June 11, Eric Hawkins, 59, stabbed Glenn Ervin Drue, Jr., 39, multiple times outside of a Connelly Avenue home. Drue was taken to ECMC where he later died.
Hawkins was arrested in Rochester over eight months later on Feb. 13, 2024.
He was found guilty of second-degree murder after three hours of deliberation and faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 14 and remains held without bail.
