BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Fifteen people at Jewish Family Services of Western New York lost their jobs Tuesday due to the federal funding freeze, the company announced.
“Unfortunately, JFS and the services we provide through federal funding are being impacted by the indefinite suspension of foreign aid programs,” JFS said in a Facebook post. “Today, we were forced to eliminate 15 positions at the agency.”
Jewish Family Services is a nonprofit organization that serves all members of the community regardless of religion. It provides therapy and career services to all as well as specific support for the Jewish community and refugees.
