Go inside impressive Spanish estate in Los Angeles owned by ‘Big Bang Theory’ star
Owned by “Big Bang Theory” actor Simon Helberg, a gleaming, 1930s Spanish Colonial estate in Los Angeles with grand living spaces, large picture windows and lush gardens is for sale for $8.997 million.
Helberg lives in the 4,318-square-foot house in California with his wife and actress Jocelyn Towne and their two children.
The home has five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and a one-room guest house.
Located on a cul de sac in the coveted Los Feliz Oaks neighborhood, the private and gated home is comprised of three parcels with an enormous flat lawn, a meditation sanctuary with a koi pond and a terraced hills containing a fruit-tree orchard, wildflowers and sitting places.
“It is incredibly rare to find such a private, largely flat, three-fourths of an acre in the coveted Los Feliz Oaks, let alone a pristinely restored (1930s) Spanish with a pool and guest house and the indoor-outdoor flow every buyer craves,” said listing agent Elisa Ritt of Compass.
Los Angeles-based interior designer Nickey Kehoe restored and redesigned the house.
“You’ll find that no expense has been spared and every room features the highly acclaimed bespoke interior design of Nickey Kehoe,” said Ritt, who holds the listing with Anthony Stellini and Sherri Rogers of Compass.
The main house opens to a tiled foyer that leads into a spacious living room with a new gas fireplace, large picture windows taking in treetop views, French doors and a courtyard patio.
“Every last detail has been thought of as this vintage estate has been modernized and restored to create a blissful escape amidst the trees,” according to the listing.
The open den, kitchen and dining area flow out to a wonderful outdoor dining area, salt water pool, the enormous lawn and the guest house.
An attractive staircase and second-floor landing with a built-in bench is followed by three guest bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.
Past a window-lined hallway is the primary suite, which features treetop views, a custom walk-in closet with skylight and an en-suite bath featuring a steam shower with heated seats, in-shower speaker and plumbing hardware imported from England.
The property was previously owned by actor Vince Vaughn, according to Compass.
“Big Bang Theory” aired its last episode in May 2019 after 12 seasons and lots of Emmy Awards. Helberg recently appeared in “Poker Face” streaming on Peacock.
