Gilmore Girls star announces new project
Gilmore Girls favourite Kelly Bishop has a new project on the horizon.
Ahead of its publication on September 17, PEOPLE confirms that the Emily Gilmore star has penned a memoir for Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
"From my first steps onto a Broadway stage, to the town of Stars Hollow, I am excited to take my fans along with me through the story of my life," said Bishop in a statement.

The autobiography will be titled The Third Gilmore Girl, referring to the matriarch she played in the eponymous comedy-drama series between 2000 and 2007.
"Kelly Bishop's long career in showbusiness includes so many indelible moments and characters, and I'm thrilled to be the one to bring her whole life's story to her countless fans," commented editor Hannah Braaten.
The Third Gilmore Girl features behind-the-scenes tales and life lessons from across Bishop's time in the entertainment world, which includes a prestigious Tony Award win back in 1976 for her role in the Broadway production A Chorus Line.

She'll also reflect on the death of her husband Lee Leonard, who passed away from cancer in 2018.
This comes after Gilmore Girls' Luke Danes actor Scott Patterson condemned a scene from season 3 that had his character's backside become the center of attention.
On his podcast I Am All In with Scott Patterson, he recalled: "Oh, you mean, objectifying somebody's body part? Yeah, that was disturbing.
"It is infuriating because you're being treated like an object. And it's disturbing and it's disgusting and I had to endure that through that entire scene and many takes... it was the most disturbing time I have ever spent on that set. I couldn't wait for that day to be over.
"Just because it was 2003 didn't mean it was okay," Patterson added. "It's never okay. And I didn't feel comfortable doing it and it pissed me off. I never said anything so I was angry at myself for never saying anything but, you know, I had this job and I didn't want to make waves and all that."
