This French restaurant near Wrightsville Beach has closed
Sweet n Savory's Epicurean Bistro at 1978 Eastwood Road near Wrightsville Beach is closed. Owner Rob Shapiro posted on social media about the sister restaurant to the popular Sweet n Savory Cafe.
"We are sad to announce that the Epicurean Bistro will be closing effective immediately," the post read. "We are grateful for all of the dedication, energy and love provided by the staff over these last 19 months and especially over the last 8 months since our rebranding."
Shapiro made changes at that time to make the French restaurant more accessible and economical for diners. Epicurean Bistro has been well reviewed, he said, but hasn't been as consistently busy as it needed to be.
"Unfortunately, the market never embraced our original or updated concept with anywhere near enough business to create a sustainable business," he wrote in the note.

Shapiro added that Sweet n Savory, at 1611 Pavilion Place in Wilmington, is "alive and well."
He is planning on bringing the popular wine program, with 45 wines by the glass, to Sweet n Savory. Diners can also expect the original restaurant to serve the favorite menu items from Epicurean Bistro.
