Four 14-year-olds arrested for stealing car in Lockport
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Four 14-year-olds have been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged theft of a car in Lockport earlier this week, New York State Police said Tuesday.
Police said they saw the car, a 2002 Toyota Camry, fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Ohio Street and West Ave. just after 3 a.m. on Sunday.
Police tried to stop the car and the teens allegedly took off, stopping when the car hit a fence on Vine Street. All four of the teens fled on foot and were eventually arrested. The car had been recently stolen without the owner knowing. Police said the car was unlocked with the keys in the vehicle.
The teens were all charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and two of them were additionally charged with resisting arrest. They were processed and issued appearance courts for Family Court later this month.
