Former Canisius student sentenced for posting threat of mass harm toward school
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A former Canisius student was sentenced Tuesday afternoon to a one-year conditional discharge after he posted a threat toward the school last August, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
Just before 11:40 a.m. on the morning of Aug. 22, an 18-year-old Canisius student made a post on Snapchat that was “threatening in nature.”
He pleaded guilty to making a threat of mass harm on Jan. 7. He will have to receive counseling and complete 60 hours of community service as a part of the sentence.
His name was originally released but is no longer being released due to his age at the time of the crime.
