Former administrator at Erie County school admits to production of child pornography
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A former director at the Gow School in Erie County pleaded guilty to production of child pornography after he used hidden cameras to film minors, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
Matthew Fisher, 51, of South Wales, was residing on the Gow School campus when he used hidden cameras to film at least five minor males engaging in sexual conduct.
He was employed as the Associate Director of Enrollment and Management between June 2022 and November 2023. Child pornography of the five victims, as well as additional minor victims, were found on Fisher’s electronic devices.
In a statement, a spokesperson with the Gow School said cameras were seized from Fisher’s residence but weren’t found anywhere else on campus. In addition, they said they are not aware of any Gow student being involved in the crimes.
Fisher was previously charged with possession of child pornography after webpages depicting naked boys under the age of 10 were allegedly found on his school-issued laptop.
Fisher faces a maximum of 30 years in prison, a minimum of 15 years and a $250,000 fine, if convicted. Sentencing has yet to be scheduled.
