Ford Tri-Motor will be at the Alamogordo-White Sands Airport. Here's how to get tickets.
The Ford Tri-Motor, an airplane built in 1929, will be in Alamogordo and offer locals the opportunity to fly.
The airplane was restored in the 1980s and early 1990s, according to Secretary of Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 251 Kieth Caulton.
“The Tri-Motor is an early airliner used for both regional and transcontinental flights,” Caulton said. “It is the type of airplane used by Transcontinental Air Transport to introduce the first transcontinental airline service.”
The airplane is owned by the Experimental Aircraft Association Aviation Foundation, an organization that provides education with workshops, flight training simulators, Young Eagle flights, Eagle flights and scholarships.
“Known as the first luxury airliner, the Ford Tri-Motor redefined world travel and marked the beginning of commercial flight. Our tour stops are hosted by volunteers who are passionate about sharing the Ford Tri-Motor’s stories,” according to the Experimental Aircraft Association website.
When is the Tri-Motor in Alamogordo?
The Ford Tri-Motor will be at the Alamogordo-White Sands Airport at 3500 Airport Road from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. April 11 and April 14. Flights will run continuously that the day from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
People are asked to check in with the onsite crew as early as possible on the day you plan to fly.

How do I get tickets?
The public can purchase tickets at flytheford.org.
Tickets vary from $75 to $99. There are still 180 seats available and there is no specified age limit to fly.
