Five musical events happening in Fort Worth, Arlington to head into the weekend
Live music is back in Fort Worth and Arlington a week after a winter storm left roads icy and forced event cancellations. Head into the weekend with these local performances:
Second Thursdays at the Carter: Sips & Stories
When: Thursday, Feb. 10, 5-8 p.m.
Where: Amon Carter Museum of American Art, 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth
Cost: Free
Listen to local artists at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art’s second Thursday event “Sips & Stories.” The band Sam the Lion, a “compendium of the best of Texas music” will host an open mic and perform their original songs during this free event.
Ricky Nelson Remembered
When: Thursday, Feb. 10, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Rock band singers Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, twin sons of Rock’n’Roll Hall of Famer Ricky Nelson and grandsons of ‘50s TV icons Ozzie & Harriet Nelson, will perform in remembrance of their father. Tickets can be purchased on eventbrite.com under the event name “Ricky Nelson Remembered Starring Matthew & Gunnar Nelson.”
Stockyard Armadillo Friday concerts
When: Friday, Feb. 11, 3-6 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.
Where: Stockyard Armadillo, 120 W Exchange Ave., Fort Worth
Kick off the weekend with two performances at the Stockyard Armadillo, which has live music weekly. Singer and guitarist Zack Baker will perform from 3-6 p.m. and Erick Willis and Zach Nytomt will perform from 6-9 p.m.
Lucia Micarelli
When: Saturday, Feb. 12, 8-10 p.m.

Matilda the Musical
