Crews contain fire at Albuquerque landfill

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A fire at a landfill in the Southwest Mesa in Albuquerque has been contained. The fire began before 3 p.m. at the Cerro Colorado Landfill. Bernalillo County firefighters were on scene.
Albuquerque area firefighters climb 110 flights of stairs to in honor of 9/11 first responders
The city has shut down the landfill and staff, including the Environmental Health Department, are monitoring the situation. It’s unclear what caused the fire.
