Fire breaks out at Wilson’s Lakeside Market
BUFFALO,N.Y. (WIVB) — A fire broke out Tuesday night at Wilson’s Lakeside Market on Lake Street in the village of Wilson, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced.
The market, which is the only full service grocery store in the area, is located at 337 Lake St. According to its website, the business has been in the community for over 50 years.
The fire was reported just before 7 p.m. and upon arrival, deputies saw the fire coming from the west end of the business, officials said. Crews from six different fire companies arrived and extinguished the fire.
The sheriff’s office said there were no occupants inside the market during the fire when they arrived at 7 p.m., but according to the store’s website, it’s open seven days a week and closes at 9 p.m.
Authorities have not yet released an estimate of the property damage.
The cause of the fire currently remains under investigation.
