Everything Elmwood to close after 43 years in business
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Everything Elmwood, a popular online shop with a brick-and-mortar store in Buffalo, announced its closure on Saturday after 43 years of being in business.
“After 43 incredible years, Everything Elmwood is closing as we step into retirement,” the business said in a social media post. “We’re filled with gratitude for this amazing community.”
The store, located at 740 Elmwood Ave., was family-owned and offered a variety of gifts for residents and visitors, including clothing, jewelry, soaps, ornaments and more.
“We were 21 and kids and to see how time just flew by, it’s bittersweet but we’re ready to step into that next phase,” said owner Kelly LaMartina, who owns the business with her husband Gary.
“For us it’s all positive and that’s what makes it difficult,” Gary said.
In the post, the business said everything is now 50 percent off for its last month in business. Everything Elmwood did not announce a specific closing date.
“It’s almost like the shoe doesn’t fit anymore,” Kelly said. “Creatively, it’s time and we’ve got time in our life if we retire to do other things and spend time in the community. When you own your own business it’s 24/7, 7 days a week.”
