Edison will upgrade sports courts at township parks by mid-summer
EDISON - Sports courts at several township parks will be repaired and upgraded by the middle of summer.
The township is seeking bids for work to repair cracks and resurface sports courts at nine parks throughout the township, according to a public notice.
The bids are due April 30. The township council will then review the bids and award the contract.

The work is scheduled to be completed 90 days after the contract is awarded.
The work will include restoration of sports courts at Bernard L. Dwyer Park at Annette Drive and Gentore Court; Minnie B. Veal/Elder Park at Grove Avenue and Firethorn Drive; Hale Park at Talmadge Road and Alexis Lane; Yelencsics Park on Woodbridge Avenue; Winter Street Park on George and Anita avenues; Central Avenue Park, Paterniti Park on Vineyard Road; Thomas Swales Park at Park Way and Elm Street and North Eighth Avenue tennis courts.
The project will include clearing and grading; removal of existing features such as trees, stumps, tennis posts, basketball posts and goals; pavement removal; hot mix asphalt spot and profile milling; crack repairs and the installation of hot mix asphalt base and surface courses; pickleball and tennis posts and nets; basketball posts and goals; color surfacing system; line striping and more.
