What’s Driving You Crazy? – Freeway access ramp closure
LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) – With no major road work on this Labor Day holiday, the Nevada Dept of Transportation is ready to “ramp” things up (or down) starting tonight.
This is a heads-up for your overnight ride around Blue Diamond and I-15 for the rest of the week. NDOT is taking away the ramp from Blue Diamond to the southbound 15.
Pretty easy workaround: you’ll be directed west on Blue Diamond to Dean Martin (right next to the Silverton Hotel).
Slide on down Dean Martin to Silverado Ranch for your access to the southbound 15.
The work will be from 8 each night until 5 each following morning until Friday.
It’s part of NDOT’s $86-million I-15 south widening project, where you’ll eventually have 5 travel lanes in each direction of the highway between Blue Diamond and St Rose Pkwy instead of the current three, with 4 lanes in each direction between St Rose and Sloan, the exit to Speedvegas.
There’s a link to NDOT’s pages on this project in the online version of this story at 8newsnow.com when you click “Traffic” then “Driving You Crazy.”
Buckle up, drive carefully – and, please put down that phone!
