Deputy in Wisconsin praised for saving choking three-month-old baby
SOUTH PARK, Wis. (WFRV) – A deputy in Wisconsin is receiving an outpour of praise for saving a three-month-old baby who was choking at an event on Friday.
According to a social media post, Deputy Hoffmann with the Wood County Sheriff’s Office was assigned to work the Wisconsin State Water Ski Tournament at South Wood County Park in South Park when he was approached by a woman who said a three-month-old infant was choking.

Deputy Hoffmann ran to the infant’s location shortly before 5:00 p.m. and encountered the infant being held by an individual. The social media post says the infant appeared to be conscious but unresponsive and not breathing.
Deputy Hoffmann picked up the infant and administered CPR, and after a short period, the infant began crying and was responsive.

Deputy Hoffmann monitored the infant until paramedics arrived on the scene a short time later to provide additional care.
