In an October 25 notice to customers, the fan-favorite warehouse relayed to customers that there is a recall on the popular Krusteaz Belgian Waffles (item #547374). Distributed by TreeHouse Foods, the voluntary recall includes the 24-count box of waffles that were purchased by shoppers between October 13 and October 21, 2024 and was initiated due to the potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
You may recognize the TreeHouse Foods name as the distributor who recalled many brands of frozen waffles from Publix, Walmart, Target and more earlier this month. As the investigation is ongoing, the Krusteaz branded waffles were added to the list of the other near 700 varieties and affects warehouses in both the U.S. and Canada.

While no illnesses from the Krusteaz waffles have been reported to date, it's important to know that coming into contact with Listeria monocytogenes can result in mild symptoms including fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In more serious cases, symptoms such as headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions can develop as well. If not treated correctly, more severe and long lasting issues may arise, such as brain and nerve damage.
If you purchased the product in question and still have some remaining, it is urged that you do not continue to consume it. Instead, you can return it to Costco for a full refund. For those in need of more information or for any questions regarding this recall, you can contact TreeHouse Foods at 1-800-596-2903, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST.
