Cooling, charging centers open in East Texas
TYLER, Texas (KETK) – As tens of thousands of East Texans are still without power following Beryl’s storms, charging and cooling stations are opening up to bring some relief.

According to the Polk County Office of Emergency Management, they have requested emergency assistance commodities from the state, such as MRE’s, water and ice. The emergency management offices added that with the county in a heat advisory and mostly without power that cooling centers have opened across the county.
The Polk County Office of Emergency Management lists the following cooling centers:
Polk County Commerce Center 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Onalaska VFD Station 51 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Corrigan City Hall 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
South Polk County VFD 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Polk County Office of Emergency Management announced that from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday they will have water, ice and MREs available to community members while supplies last.
They said that these emergency relief supplies will be distributed at Pedigo Park.
