Columbia will see heat advisory through Thursday. Here's how hot it will feel
Columbia is expected to have several days this week when temperatures are expected to approch triple digits as much of the region will be under a heat advisory.
The advisory began Monday, when a high near 95 degrees was expected. That's just the start, with highs of 98 forecast Tuesday and Wednesday. The advisory continues through Thursday, when the high is expected to be about 96.
However, as is often the case for a Missouri summer heat wave, it's going to feel even hotter.
Starting Tuesday, heat index values are likely to hit upwards of 111 degrees.
"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors," the National Weather Service advised.

Beginning Wednesday evening through Thursday evening, a chance of thunderstorms exists. By Friday, it'll still be hot, but the high is expected to be a slightly more mild 92 degrees.
That general level of heat is expected through the weekend, so the Columbia area will have to wait for a more significant break in the heat.
