City of Delano breaks ground for future Target location
DELANO, Calif. (KGET) — Delano lawmakers and real estate developers broke ground Friday on an upcoming location for big-box retailer Target.
Lawmakers representing Delano and officials with land developers YK America were on hand for the ceremonial first shoveling of dirt at The Vineyard shopping center at Woollomes Road and Dover Parkway.

Target will anchor that shopping center and will open near the Maya Cinemas.
Kern County Supervisor David Couch said Target opening in Delano is a vote of confidence in the growing community. He said companies like Target “do a lot of research and they decide what market is for them to do business in and they made the choice to be in Delano and in Kern County.
Delano Mayor Joe Alindajao said the community is excited to welcome Target to The Vineyard. “There are other retailers ready to cast their vote [of confidence] in the city of Delano,” he said.
