New Chipotle opening in Wilmington this week. Here's when and where.
America’s fast-growing, build-you-own Mexican chain restaurant is bringing a new location to the Porters Neck area of Wilmington and will include a feature unique to the area. Here’s what to know.
Where’s the new location?
Chipotle has more than 3,400 restaurants and counting, including two existing local spots -- one near Independence Mall at 1525 Fordham Road and one in Mayfaire at 941 International Drive. The newest location is set to open Friday, March 29 at 7964 Market St. near Outer Dunes Brewing Company.
What is a Chipotlane?
This location will have a Chipotlane, the brand’s signature drive-thru pickup lane for digital orders. Last year, Chipotle opened 271 new restaurants and 238 locations included Chipotlane. They introduced the concept in 2018 and opened the first in 2021.

What’s new on the menu?
After debuting last year, Chipotle’s Chicken al Pastor became a social media favorite. They re-released the dish flavored with adobo, morita peppers, ground achiote, pineapple, fresh lime and cilantro on March 12 for a limited time. It will also be available in Wilmington. The new restaurant will be open daily 10:45 a.m.- 10 p.m.
