Chicago’s Polar Express train ride canceled for 2024 season
CHICAGO — A beloved Christmas tradition in Chicago has been canceled.
The Polar Express holiday train ride that operates from Chicago’s Union Station will not run this holiday season.
The event posted on their website a statement that read, “We regret to announce that The Polar Express Train Ride will not operate in Chicago in 2024. We understand this event is an important experience for families and hope to return in the future.”

Organizers elaborated on a Facebook post and said the cancelation is it’s due to reconstruction near Union Station in the West Loop.
The event was also canceled in 2022 due to staffing shortages.
