Buffalo man sentenced for fatal stabbing in 2023
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was sentenced Friday morning for stabbing another man to death in 2023, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Eric Hawkins, 59, received the maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison. He stabbed Glenn Ervin Drue, Jr., 39, multiple times around 9:30 p.m. on June 11. The incident occurred outside of a home on the first block of Connelly Avenue. Drue was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Hawkins was arrested in Rochester over eight months later on Feb. 13, 2024. He was found guilty of murder last month.
