Buffalo man arraigned on animal cruelty charge for killing puppy
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was arraigned Thursday on one count of aggravated cruelty to animals after he allegedly killed a puppy last month, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Officials said on Feb. 26, 48-year-old Timothy Brown intentionally hit a male pug puppy named Goji multiple times while inside of a residence on Shields Avenue.
The victim called police after finding the dog dead inside of their shared home.
Brown was released on his own recognizance. A temporary protection order was issued on behalf of the victim along with a “no animal” order, which prevents Brown from owning and caring for animals while the case pends prosecution, officials said.
Brown faces up to two years in prison if convicted of the highest charge. He is scheduled to return for a felony hearing on March 20.
