BREAKING: Standoff in Pensacola leads to arrest
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — News 5 is following a standoff on Gonzalez Court in Pensacola.
Pensacola Police Department spokesperson Mike Wood said the PPD received a call of a disturbance around 5:45 a.m., saying that an individual had a gun in an apartment.
Officers arrived and met a female who had escaped the apartment, according to Wood. She told officers the male with the gun was still inside the apartment.
She was taken to a safe location, and officers tried to get the male to come out of the apartment for several hours, News 5 has learned.
Pensacola police said they believe the man left out of the back door when the initial officers arrived on the scene and went to another location, where he was found by officers and arrested.
Charges are pending. No injuries were reported.
