Auburn Ave. fire causes $500K in damages
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A fire on Auburn Avenue early Saturday afternoon caused an estimated $400,000 in damages and an additional $100,000 in damages to the home’s contents, officials said.
Fire crews responded to the fire at 675 Auburn Ave. around 1:30 p.m. The fire started in the attic, officials said, and spread throughout the 2 1/2-story wood-frame structure. There was also minor damage to two neighboring properties.
The American Red Cross is assisting five adults and four children who were displaced by the fire. One firefighter was treated for minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
