Arkansas police officer fired, arrested after alleged child sex crimes
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Blytheville Police Department officer was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly viewing inappropriate sexual material on the internet involving a child.
David Paul Cross, 25, is charged with Distributing, Possessing, and/or Viewing Materials Depicting Sexually Explicit Conduct Involving a Child.
Arkansas State Police were investigating the incident and arrested Cross. ASP agents also seized electronic devices and other evidence in Cross’s home after executing a search warrant.
Once the Blytheville Police Department was made aware of the allegations against Cross and that he was arrested, he was fired from the police department. He was a police officer with the department for three years.
Cross was taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center. He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
This is still an ongoing investigation.
