Juvenile charged after 89-year-old injured in Evans hit-and-run
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 17-year-old has been charged after a 89-year-old man was injured in a hit-and-run on Derby Road in Evans, police said.
Police responded to 7380 Derby on Monday, where the elderly man was hit by an unknown vehicle while he was standing at his mailbox. The vehicle left the scene. A 17-year-old from Evans has since come forward.
The juvenile was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Police say his name will not be released due to his age.
The 89-year-old suffered arm, leg and back injuries. He was taken to ECMC to be treated.
