7 guns seized from man at bus station, facing charges
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Several guns were seized at the NFTA station in downtown Buffalo from a man who police believe planned on selling them, police said Tuesday.
Police arrested 29-year-old Jaleel Battle on Friday. Police said he had been traveling by bus to Buffalo from Atlanta. When he arrived, police executed a search warrant and found seven guns, including a Glock 26 handgun and a Smith & Wesson M&P .40. NFTA police believe Battle planned on selling them.
He was arrested and charged with the following:
seven counts, criminal possession of a firearm
second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
possession of a weapon that has been defaced
possession of large capacity ammunition feeding device
“Our Transit Police officers are dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our community,” NFTA police chief Brian Patterson said in a news release. “This arrest underscores the importance of strong partnerships with federal agencies like Homeland Security and our commitment to keeping illegal weapons off our streets.”
