6 people displaced by fire on Prospect Avenue
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Six adults were displaced by a fire that occurred Sunday morning on Prospect Avenue, which caused an estimated total of $200,000 in damage, a city spokesperson said.
Five of the adults stayed on the scene while one was transported to ECMC to be evaluated. They were assisted by the Red Cross and emergency responders.
Just before 11 a.m., Buffalo fire responded to the fire at 748 Prospect Ave., a 2 1/2-story residence. Officials said the blaze started in the attic and expanded to the second floor.
An estimated $150,000 in damage was done to the residence’s structure and $50,000 to its contents.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
