1 dead, 2 hurt in wrong-way crash on Route 33
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man is dead and two others were hospitalized following a wrong-way crash Sunday night on Route 33.
Police said just after 9:30 p.m., a Nissan Altima was traveling the wrong way on the eastbound lane when it struck another vehicle head-on near the Grider Street exit.
The driver of the Altima, 26-year-old Grant Beyer of Williamsville, was transported by ambulance to ECMC and was pronounced dead, his family and police confirmed to WIVB News 4. Two occupants of the other vehicle were also transported by ambulance to ECMC to be treated for apparent non-life-threatening injuries, according to Buffalo police.
The incident remains under investigation.
