John-Michael Thomas lives in the neighborhood where the crash occurred. He shared what he heard and saw outside his window.
“I heard a loud crash, and I didn’t really think much of it until I heard, I guess it was, the EMT, their sirens go off. I saw … that there was an ambulance out here and there was another guy, two cars in a wreck,” said Thomas.
Another neighbor, Colin Twist, said he came home when he saw law enforcement head toward his neighborhood.
“I just pray that they’re okay,” said Twist. “That’s scary…that’s very scary.”
A spokesperson with the police department told News 5 that four people were initially taken to the hospital with injuries after the crash. Today, officials said that the officer was treated and released.
A pet sitter who was called to the crash scene to take a cat in one of the impacted vehicles after the owner was taken to the hospital also provided an update to News 5.
“I’m surprised that the cat is still here, alive,” said pet sitter Tara Haney. “It’s a miracle. I’m nervous about my client, and (making) sure she’s okay.”
The condition of the other people injured in the crash remains unknown.
