2 previously deported Hondurans face new charges
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two Honduran citizens were arrested and charged after facing different charges in multiple states and being deported, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
Javier Antonio Cruz, 27, was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Texas in 2020. He was deported in 2018 and 2024, officials said. According to officials, Junior Eduardo Garcia Castro, 28, who was deported in 2018 and twice in 2022, faces multiple charges in Georgia for driving without a license.
Both men were allegedly stopped for a traffic violation on Feb. 18. They were passengers in a vehicle driving down Niagara Falls Boulevard.
Cruz and Castro were charged with illegal re-entry after deportation. They face a maximum of two years in prison if convicted.
