17-year-old pleads guilty for stabbing neighbor
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo teen has pleaded guilty in connection with stabbing his neighbor in November, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
The male teen, 17, admitted to the stabbing on the 1900 block of Seneca Street in the early morning hours of Nov. 1, 2024 during a dispute. The stabbing was done with a pocket knife.
The victim, a 43-year-old man, was taken to ECMC, hospitalized for several days, and underwent surgery for injuries to his chest and abdomen.
The teen pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree assault. He faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on March 19. However, if he is determined to be a youthful offender, the maximum sentence would be 1 1/3 to four years in prison.
The teen is currently being held at the Erie County Youth Services Center.
