13 Reasons Why star Dylan Minnette on giving up acting
13 Reasons Why's Dylan Minnette has discussed his decision to leave acting.
Also famed for his roles in Scream, Don't Breathe and Prisoners, Minnette bowed out of the industry two years ago to focus on his rock band Wallows, for which he sings and plays rhythm guitar.
Joining The Zach Sang Show alongside Wallows bandmates Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston last week, Minnette said: "I was fortunate to find success in [acting]. I was on 13 Reasons Why and it was really popular and definitely reached a peak in what I've had in acting. But it also started to feel like a bit of a job.

"I was in a very fortunate position, it was always fun for me, always really inspiring, but then it was just starting to feel like a job," the star continued.
For the time being, Minnette's priority is to take Wallows as far as possible, having previously smashed out a set at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and received an MTV Video Music Award nomination after signing for Atlantic Records.

"I feel like I'm in a position now where I can just kind of like do that for a while and get this the farthest it can be. The only way that's gonna happen is if I put my 100% time and energy into it and take it very seriously and show the world that we all take this very seriously," he told the podcaster.
Although it might take a while for him to feel totally ready, Minnette did care to mention that a return to acting isn't off the table.
"I do feel like I have something to give, and that's probably acting. I feel like I'm starting to feel inspiration for that again," he teased.
