1 juvenile pleads, 2 more charged in pool shooting
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Two more juveniles now face charges after shots were fired at a public swimming pool in Kalamazoo last month, the prosecutor says.
Kalamazoo County Prosecutor Jeff Getting said charges of carrying a concealed weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm and being a minor in possession of a firearm were filed against both.
A third juvenile who was previously charged has already pleaded to carrying a concealed weapon, Getting said.
Shots were fired on the evening of June 19 at the city’s Kik Pool on Walter St street near Lake Street, according to a release from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. Police say they were on scene within minutes.
No one was hurt, though an unoccupied vehicle was damaged, police said.
Police said they recovered two guns and a juvenile was arrested at the scene.
